Servicing your vehicle is important to make sure that minor issues are spotted quickly before they become major and costly to fix. Servicing differs from the MOT test as it is not a legal requirement. However, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have your car serviced regularly.
Even if you don’t think there are any issues with your car, it is still important not to skip your service. Wear and tear can be easy to miss unless your car is checked thoroughly by a professional. Regular servicing will help to ensure that your vehicle is performing efficiently and safely.
Saving Money
Failing to service your vehicle can seem to be a cost saving measure. However, this isn’t the case. Issues that are identified during your service can be fixed before they become more costly to repair. In addition, regular servicing ensures that your car is performing as efficiently as possible. Checks that are included in your service such as engine oil replacements will help to ensure that you are not consuming unnecessary excess fuel. Not servicing your car regularly can also increase your chances of suffering a breakdown. This is not only inconvenient but also costly.
The other way that regular servicing is economically beneficial is that it adds to the re-sale value of your car. This means that adhering to a regular servicing schedule will actually save you money in the long run.

What is the difference between an interim and a full service?
At Tyre Pros, we offer both a full and interim service. Whether you should book a full or interim service depends on when your car was last serviced.
Interim Service
Our interim service provides reassurance that your vehicle is performing well in between full services. For this reason, if you make regular short trips, an interim service will ensure that your car is safe in between your full services. We recommend having an Interim Service every 6 months or 6,000 miles depending on which comes first. During your Interim Service, key features that keep your car safe will be checked such as your tyres and suspension.
Full Service
We recommend a Full Service every 12 months or 12,000 miles. Our Full Service includes all of the checks in an Interim Service with additional checks such as a full brake inspection. Find out exactly which checks are included in your Interim and Full Services with our checklist.
